11 days old…time is flying by…

Wow.  What a FANTASTIC, almost, 2 weeks of my life!!!!  I love it.  Busy, is an understatement.  Period.

Thursday, just 6 days out of womb, I took Eli to his very first visit to Target.  It was so nice to be out of this house.  I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in the house this long with any of my children.  But the more you have, the more difficult it becomes to get out.  Friday, Daddy had to return to work.  I was nervous, just a little.  Mainly on how tired I’d be, but I was good, I spoiled myself with Starbucks.  Starbucks takes care of all tiredness 😉

This is how Eli sleeps.  Wrapped super tight.

Daddy brought Ashton to school in the morning and I had pickup duty.  No biggy really.  And, in fact, that helps tremendously!  Taking the 3 boys out of the car for a mere matter of minutes, kinda sucks.  After school, we hit Aunt Bunny’s house.  She didn’t really have much time with Eli yet, and I needed to pick something up at her house.  So the boys played with Uncle Bill for about 2 hours while Eli had some snuggle time with Aunt Bunny and myself.  Once we got home Ethan went straight to nap and my good friend Heather stopped by with some goodies.  Wine and a balloon!  How well she knows us 😉  The wine is yummy and the boys LOVE balloons.

When it was time for Ms. Heather to go pick up her own 2 sons, I asked her to follow me to Target so I could run in.  She did.  Then we went off to Daddy’s first home football game.  We had dinner at Carrabba’s, “Party of 5 please.”  WOW!  This will take some getting used to.  We were seated right away and dinner was yummy.  The boys were excellent at the football game, Ashton and Ethan were so amazing that we even spoiled them with a little ice cream for the ride home.  I finally made it home at 9:30pm, way past bed time, the older boys went straight to dreamland while Eli and I snuggled for another round of feedings.  I was so proud of all my boys.  They did amazing, considering it was our first day alone together, and I had them going all day long.

Saturday we woke up and decided to just relax.  Then around 3pm we decided we’d take the kids to the USF tailgate.  We didn’t think the older boys would be much fun for the game, so we thought the tailgate would be perfect.  Time to get out of the house, throw the football around, yell, scream, laugh, just good times.  Well all was perfect until we were told there is no more throwing of footballs at the tailgates.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  No throwing of ANY kind.  What are kids supposed to do?  Not to mention, it was so hot, we were literally soaked in our clothes.  Brutally hot.  But I really wanted to get out of the house, socialize with some friends, and just relax.  Thankfully, Daddy and the boys don’t mind sweating, so it was really just me who we needed to worry about, and well, I was having too much of a good time to worry about sweating a little.  LOL

Sunday morning I woke up and my Mom said she was heading out to Orlando to visit my Uncle and his family for their last day of their Disney vacation.  I wasn’t sure, at first, if we’d be able to make it, again, another challenge with 3 kids, dinner at 5:30pm, and an hour drive each way.  But, we DID it!!!  And I’m so happy we did.  We had a party of 17 people!  It was nice.  I haven’t seen my cousins Megan and Tommy since they were itty bitty.  I was in college doing my internship with Circuit City.  I was 20yrs old.  So 12yrs ago is the last time I seen them both.  Megan was about 5 or 6 and Tommy was 2 or 3.  WOW!  Have they grown up.  Megan is as tall as me, and gorgeous, and Tommy is BIGGER than me and he’s only 14yrs old.  GESH!!!!  How does that happen?  Are our boys going to grow that fast?  Oh dear, I hope not.  Better cherish these moments while I have them.  The boys were absolutely FANTASTIC.  Something we did not expect, but they were.  We were very proud of them.  That’s a long time to be trapped in carseats and dinner.

Aunt Robin, Uncle Vinnie, Tommy, and Megan

Monday we decided to do nothing.  Well, I mean, no leaving the house.  LOL.  Daddy and the boys pressure washed the porch and outside of the house while Mommy sat and snuggled Eli all morning long.  When Daddy came in, he helped me with cleaning the floors and moving furniture around to clean up crumbs…yuck!  But it’s done.  When we were finished Aunt Dana and Howie arrived and Dana took over the snuggle time with Eli.  Yesterday was a difficult day as he did not want to be put down for a minute.  I thought maybe he was getting GERD and maybe having tummy problems, he still may be, but I’m not 100% sure yet.  Ethan had it, and it was a nightmare until you can give them medicine.

Eli is now napping in his crib.  Let’s hope yesterdays 24hours need of being held was a fluke and it never happens again.  I love cuddle time, but I’m not that Mom.  I need rest myself and I need my house in order.  And now that Daddy’s back to work, I need my arms from time to time.  LOL.

naptime

And now that we are only about 7-8wks away from my biggest boy turning 5yo, I went ahead and booked his Bowling Alley birthday party today!  OMG.  He is almost 5yo!  I can hardly believe it.  I’ve been telling him for months, “Ashton, you’re almost 5yo’s.  5yo’s don’t do that, or do this, or blah blah blah.”  But now it’s time!  He is really almost 5yo.  YIKES!  So now I’m on the hunt of what to buy an almost 5yo.  It has to be educational.  So if you have a suggestion, let me know.  Until then, we’ll be brainstorming birthday party fun.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the random photos of Eli.

Just some updates…

I haven’t been a very good blogger have I? First I’d like to say,
“Happy Birthday Howie!” The big 3 years old, huh? We sure missed you today. Ashton really wanted to spend your special day with you, but you had other plans 😦 Just know you were missed and we love you very much!
Next, well Ethan is cutting 8 teeth, and to tell you the truth, it pretty much sucks. His gums are so inflamed that he eats mostly peanut butter & jelly (and been burritos, see below), and well, that’s it. Even bananas he isn’t digging right now. Oh and his morning waffles. Now life would not be good without them 🙂

There is a lot of this going on….

Yes, Ethan sucks his thumb, but most of all, he sucks it while holding on to one of his 2 favorite blankets. If that isn’t around, then he’ll opt for Mommy’s dress/pants/shirt, whatever he can grab onto Mommy and keep in his hand while his thumb is firmly placed inside of his mouth 🙂 He is a true Mama’s boy!

Even with his nose pouring from these pesky teeth, he still manages to win my heart over and over again 🙂

On Saturday we got a new A/C, THANK YOU RYAN!!!! The boys played outside together walking up and down the sidewalk and riding bikes. Here you see Ashton being the most fabulous Big Brother in our households history 😉

Ethan has become quite the walker, but without his trusty brother friend, it would never have happened. They sure are bonded. And NO, he does NOT need a walker. He is just playing with this toy for pure entertainment. He walks very well on his own 🙂

Welcome Home, Uncle Joey!

Today our family was doubly blessed. First, it started off with Daddy’s brother and his family arriving from SC. OMG, I almost said Vermont 😉 Nope, they now live in SC. We don’t get to see them too often and in fact, Uncle Mike hasn’t been to Florida since our wedding, almost 5 years ago. So we were stoked to have them over for a family BBQ, along with Elizabeth and Paul (the boys cousins), Grandma and Papa, Grandma, Popi, and GG, and Aunt Dana, Howie, and Uncle Joey.

Uncle Joey landed in Tampa from his year long duty over in Bahrain at 3:30pm and arrived promptly at our house at 4:30pm for some dinner. He was exhausted as I’m sure you can imagine. The 21 hour flight is no walk in the park, and being on mostly military flights makes it even longer and harder. But he survived and we are so happy to have him home.
Ethan didn’t know what quit to think of all these new faces in our home. He was a bit nervous at first, clinging to Mommy as usual, but soon after he was crusin’ around looking for anyone to read to him or feed him 🙂 Elizabeth is such a wonderful big cousin, she had ALL their attentions captured during her story time.

Aunt Dana and Howie just arrived home from Bahrain as well. They went over there to visit Uncle Joey for his last 2 weeks in that country and well lets just say that Howie missed his cousins terribly 🙂 He sure knows how to show the love….meanwhile in the background you can see Ashton pouting. 3 year olds, I tell ya! But then he came around and had to show Howie up…these two boys…they really are going to make us work!

Ashton is bonding with Elizabeth. This is as close to her as he would get, for now. Just wait, tomorrow we’ll be with them all day and then Wednesday we’ll be going to SeaWorld with them…I’m sure I’ll have pictures of him begging for Elizabeth to hold his hand or read to him or play something with him. Besides the shot of Elizabeth reading to the kids and the video, I didn’t get any photos of Paul, our 6 year old nephew. Can I just tell you how tall he is? Yeah, he is an “R” that is for sure. He is almost as tall as his 9 year old sister (who is no shrimp herself) and gosh, I feel like the next time we see him, he just might be as tall as me. How does this happen? I promise, on Easter (well, that is technically right now) I will get a better photo of him. Maybe I’ll even get a photo of all of us, that is if I can round up a neighbor that would be willing to help us out with that.

As for now, I better get back to bed if I want that Bunny to come visit. From what I’ve been told, he doesn’t come when people are awake, and I know 2 little boys who would be very sad if the Easter Bunny missed our house 😦

Facebook!

So today, I found my Aunt…well actually she found me. And I thought, WOW, what a great tool Facebook really can be. It is great to get back in touch with her. We have drifted, she is pretty far from me. But I have drifted from so many friends over the years. So today I went on the hunt. hehehe.

I found so many old faces that once were regular faces in my life. Those of you who listened to me, come check out my blog advise, WELCOME! I hope you’ll post comments, and I hope to see you around more often. Sure my life isn’t really that exciting, but it is my life. And it’s something I’ve worked very hard for!

So a little background, so I don’t have to type this out to ALL of you new friends on Facebook. I’m 30 now. Most of you are as well 😉 I went to the University of West Florida and graduated with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice, then I went on to Troy State and graduated with my Masters in Public Administration. The next big event, I got married 4 1/2 years ago, I have 3 babies, Ashton (3), and identical twin boys Ethan (10 months) & Quinn (who is watching over us in heaven). Besides that, I decided to become a stay at home Mom, before we even conceived…HA! That’s just how I roll. Then we made the miracle happen and welcomed Ashton into our lives. 2 years later, we had the urge and out came Ethan. My twins had TTTS, read older posts if you want to know what that is. My miracle child Ethan came out kicking on March 12, 2008. He is the most healthy baby, weighing in at 24 1/2 lbs at just 10mths of age 😉

Besides that, we like going to lots of fun places, places I’m sure you all would be totally jealous of…like Pump It Up, Busch Gardens, Seaworld, the mall playground, ALL the parks around us, and my gyms, Kidsercise. LOL. Yeah, see, jealous, aren’t you? Well I find it fun. I love being with my boys and the time is so precious. We are about to send our oldest off to EC3 (Early Childhood 3 year olds). WOW. Has the time really already come? Why yes it has. It will be here sooner than later.

Here is a photo of me and the boys.
